Dr. Michael Conklin serves on the committee for development of Orthopaedic Guidelines for Care of Individuals with Spina Bifida. He serves on the Committee for Science and Publication, National Spina Bifida Patient Registry at the Center for Disease Control.

Dr. Shawn Gilbert has continued to serve as chair of the basic science content committee for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He also serves on the Trauma and Disaster Preparedness committee of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and on the leadership committee of the International Perthes Study Group as the IRB/regulatory chair.
